Ignition Law is delighted to announce the arrival of Charlotte Holder as a Senior Consultant in the commercial and corporate team.
Charlotte trained at Travers Smith where she worked on private equity and M&A transactions. She then moved in-house to LK Bennet as General Counsel, where she delivered a wide range of legal work, including cross-border commercial, IP, distribution, licensing, and digital contracts work.
Demonstrating her entrepreneurial flair, which aligns so nicely with Ignition, Charlotte co-founded a fashion start-up, where she was deeply involved in building operations, commercial contracts, IP management, equity structuring, HR, and logistics — all while navigating the challenges of Brexit and the pandemic.
Charlotte has also worked alongside a design agency advising on high-value contracts and has been active in advising on IP sales, distribution deals, and shareholder agreements in the fashion/retail space.
Charlotte commented on joining Ignition:
“I joined Ignition as my own experiences in entrepreneurial businesses seemed like a natural fit for both the client base and the business model of the firm. There is a high percentage of female leaders, the focus is on flexible working (hours and location) and being a B Corp also aligns with my ethical priorities.
“In law, I have a real passion for using law efficiently and commercially to help businesses rather than create extra layers. I also most enjoy building relationships with clients and creating a sense of trust.”
Alex McPherson, Ignition Founder and Managing Partner, responded:
“Having Charlotte in our Ignition team really embodies not only our commitment to SMEs and Entrepreneurs, but also our sector specialism in Retail and Fashion. Charlotte, being an ex-City lawyer, is also part of our purpose – bringing top talent to our clients.
“Charlotte’s deep sector experience in fashion, retail and consumer brands will not only complement knowledge in our growing teams, but also a specialist insight that many of our clients will benefit from. She also brings the “founder” to “boardroom” expertise that again, many of our clients will see as a huge advantage when instructing Charlotte and her team.”
Beyond her professional career, Charlotte co-founded a motor racing charity (in partnership with the Invictus Foundation), to enable training and competition opportunities for injured ex-service personnel — a cause close to her heart.
