Ailsa joined Ignition in August 2020 as a paralegal in both the litigation and corporate teams. In the litigation department, she assists fee earners on a variety of commercial disputes. In the corporate department, she has worked on various areas of corporate law including providing company secretarial support and assisting with funding rounds, corporate reorganisations and M&A deals. Following successful completion of the Solicitors’ Qualifying Exam, Ailsa has qualified as an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team.

Before joining Ignition, Ailsa studied Law at Oxford University and worked as a healthcare litigation paralegal.

 

Relevant litigation experience includes:

  • Advising clients on a range of matters relating to founder exits, shareholder disputes and commercial contractual
  • Advising clients in relation to debt recovery options.
  • Supporting on a multi-jurisdictional claim involving allegations of copyright infringement and misuse of confidential infringement in the blockchain field.
  • Assisting on the defence of a claim for patent infringement and grounds for invalidity.

Relevant corporate experience includes:

  • Assisting fee earners on a variety of M&A deals on the buy and sell-side.
  • Supporting start-ups with various company secretarial matters including incorporations, maintaining statutory registers, preparing a range corporate documents and Companies House updates.
  • Assisting fee earners on a broad range of start-ups on their equity funding rounds.
