Episode 3: Intellectual Property: protecting, exploiting and enforcing copyright with Hannah Jones
Ignition’s Jake Schogger hosts an in-depth discussion on intellectual property, with Ignition senior consultant Hannah Jones.
In this episode, we explore how businesses can protect, exploit and enforce copyright, including practical steps to safeguard valuable IP assets, the commercial opportunities that come from licensing and exploiting copyright works, and what founders need to know about enforcing their rights when infringement occurs.
Hannah trained at Magic Circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she spent 12 years advising on a wide range of commercial, intellectual property and technology-related matters and corporate transactions. Whilst at Freshfields, Hannah gained valuable in-house experience on secondment to Reuters Group PLC (now Thomson Reuters Corporation) and Lloyds Banking Group PLC, working alongside business leads on commercial contracts and M&A transactions. Hannah advises clients across all sectors on the full spectrum of commercial and intellectual property matters, including drafting and negotiating licensing and assignment agreements, and the IP ownership provisions of consultant and employment contracts.
