Holly is a senior commercial lawyer with extensive experience as a strategic partner to high-growth businesses. Having served as the first dedicated global Head of Legal for a fast-scaling group of 1,400 employees, she understands that legal advice must be pragmatic, accessible, and commercially focused.

She specialises in building “fit-for-purpose” legal functions, simplifying complex licensing structures, and designing plain-English contracts that accelerate onboarding and boost revenue.

Expertise

Commercial & Tech: Negotiates high-value licence agreements with counterparties ranging from global banks and multinational corporates to start-ups. Significant experience with complex SaaS contracts and the fintech industry.

Legal Operations: Designs risk-based strategic legal operations plans. Experience establishing and growing existing legal functions including the incorporation of tech/AI solutions, training legal/non-legal teams and drafting playbooks to provide a legal function that is cost-effective and seamlessly integrated with the business.

Data Protection: As an in-house Global DPO, she has led international privacy transformations to ensure compliance with the GDPR and local marketing and privacy laws.

IP Strategy: Experience ranging from US patent registrations to enforcing IP rights against infringements in China

Corporate & Governance: Expertise in managing incentive plans, employee option schemes, and acting as a global Company Secretary

Career History

Before joining Ignition Law, Holly was global Head of Legal at Third Bridge, an expert network and content licensor providing human insights chiefly to consulting firms and funds.

Previously, she worked at a fintech start-up called TradeIX that developed the Marco Polo Network, a block-chain enabled network for trade finance.

Prior to that experience, she was a legal counsel at IG Group, a FTSE 250 derivatives trading company.

At the start of her career, she trained and practised as a Corporate Associate at Hogan Lovells International LLP.

MA Law – Downing College, Cambridge University.

Interests

A keen traveller, wine and dog lover. She holds a WSET Level 2 qualification and enjoys walking her cocker spaniel in the countryside.
