David Stirrat

Senior Consultant

David Stirrat is a UK (Scottish qualified) employment lawyer. He trained and practised for 15 years with Scotland’s two 1st tier employment teams, later building an employment law consultancy practice advising SME, individuals and start up client’s, principally in and around London.

David he has outstanding cross-sector experience, including in Finance, Sports, New Starts and Technology, Education, Energy, Charities, the Public and the Third Sector.  He is a ‘hands on’ lawyer with a straightforward and jargon-light approach, comfortable and experiences advising in all areas of employment law.

David has an active interest in contentious employment law and is highly experienced both as an acting solicitor, and in Employment Tribunal advocacy. He has appeared in Employment Tribunals across the UK.

  • Acting for large energy supply company in senior whistle blowing / disability discrimination claims
  • Designing, implementing and managing an HR helpline and advisory facility for 50+ high street offices of umbrella administrative body
  • Acting in successful judicial mediation and settlements (London and Edinburgh)
  • Acting for AIM listed energy company in CFO dismissal and litigation

A social cause I care about

David (and his family) have a particular interest in the rights and welfare of children, and are long standing supporters of Scottish charity, Aberlour Child Care.

As an employment lawyer and Dad to an autistic son, David is keenly interested in and attuned to the experiences and particular challenges of autistic people in employment.

Other interests

David lives in Edinburgh with his partner, two school age kids and a dog. He loves music and movies, somewhat plays jazz guitar and keeps medaka (Japanese rice fish) in pond pots in his garden.
