What do you do for your clients at Ignition Law?
I oversee all aspects of the operations team, from onboarding, billing, client account money etc. If it has something to do with operations or client administration I’m involved!
What gets me out of bed in the morning
In the literal sense it’s two dogs jumping on the bed, normally before the radio alarm goes off, but in terms of work it’s because I love being part of a great team. Having worked in large firms before I much prefer the smaller business mentality, everything you do matters and the sense of excitement of seeing a business grow is contagious.
An entrepreneur I admire
Jo Malone and not just because I love her perfume. She set up her business from her kitchen table and turned it into a multi-million pound company. Breaking into that industry must have been so difficult yet she stuck at it, focused on quality and created a wonderful brand that is recognised not only by the packaging, but by smell – how cool is that. Having sold the company to Estee Lauder in 1999, she survived cancer and has now launched her second brand ‘Jo Loves’ – started again from her kitchen table.
What would you put on your Ignition Law playlist or bookshelf?
Apart from mine obviously (!) “The Joy of Work” by Bruce Daisley is a brilliant read. There are so many useful ideas in there about working as a team and the culture of company. It is full of common sense, non-management speak – no ‘low hanging fruit’ or ‘blue sky thinking’.
