Alex graduated from Oxford University in 2003, and gained many years of broad legal experience at leading law firms Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells, including client secondments at Tesco, ExxonMobil and Goldman Sachs.

He set up Ignition Law in 2015, now a high-growth full-service law firm, which has worked with many thousands of start-ups, scale-ups and entrepreneurial clients, to provide pragmatic and cost-effective legal services in a community-minded and ethical way. Ignition also works with many world-leading business schools, universities, family offices and investors.

Ignition Law has won awards and been shortlisted by all major industry awards – the Lawyer Awards, Legal Business Awards, Modern Law Awards, the Law Society Awards, the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards, LegalWeek and the Great British Entrepreneurship Awards.

Outside of Ignition, and several successful (and unsuccessful!) pursuits, Alex is an Entrepreneurship Expert at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and sits on a Corporate Advisory Board of LexisNexis, as well as being a Non-Exec Director of InniAccounts – an innovative accountancy technology business.

  • Acting for FTSE 100, FTSE 250 clients and Big Four accountancy firm on various; acquisitions, and setting up Incubator and Accelerator programmes;
  • Series A & B and C Funding Rounds for Various Scale-ups;
  • Corporate Restructuring and Potential Exit for Prominent Blockchain Business;
  • Corporate Media Work for Prominent A-List Celebrity; and
  • Complex Multi-Jurisdictional Joint Venture for Prominent Technology Scale-up.
