A highly experienced commercial lawyer, Tim has spent most of the last 11 years working in-house for a publicly-listed speciality chemicals company. There he was Deputy General Counsel, overseeing the provision of legal, company secretarial and compliance support to the global business.
He has significant experience advising on a very broad range of corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, particularly in the context of business expansion and growth.
Tim trained at Eversheds Sutherland where he qualified into the Commercial Practice Group, advising private and public sector clients on commercial matters ranging from day-to-day operations through to major global outsourcings. He also spent time working for a specialist law firm advising clients on IT contracts, outsourcing, data protection and e-commerce.
Tim’s significant in-house experience means he well understands what makes great legal advice. His in-house team was praised with providing a ‘Legal+’ service reflecting the focus on clear, risk-based, pragmatic and solution-driven support, an approach that Tim continues here at Ignition Law.

In his last role, Tim was a member of the company’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Leadership Team, and founder and co-chair of THRIVE, the company’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group. Tim is now exploring ways to continue his interest in supporting DE&I initiatives more broadly within the legal profession.
Tim is an enthusiastic cook and loves to bring family and friends together over (hopefully nice) food, and good wine (another passion!). He also has a dog called Ollie and enjoys nothing better than to unwind with a long muddy country walk and pub lunch. Tim has also been trying to learn to play the piano for the last 11 years…unsuccessfully!
