Corporate lawyer Matthew Sherman was General Counsel of a large international industrial business prior to joining Ignition Law, having previously worked in Shearman & Sterling’s Mergers & Acquisitions team in London and Singapore.
Matt advises clients across all sectors on a wide variety of corporate matters, including M&A, divestments, joint ventures, venture capital financings, other investments rounds, and company law more generally.
Representative experience includes acting for:
- PETRONAS in connection with Saudi Aramco’s US$8 billion investment in the RAPID Refinery and Petrochemical project in Malaysia;
- Capital Square Partners (“CSP”) in connection with its acquisition of ESM Holdings Limited, the holding company of the Aegis group;
- The Xander Group Inc. on its US$750 million joint venture with APG Strategic Real Estate Pool N.V. in India;
- CX Partners and CSP on the sale of Minacs to Synnex Corporation for approximately US$420 million;
- Goldman Sachs, CSP, PTT and others on multiple M&A and JV arrangements globally;
- Bridgepoint on the sale of the life sciences group LGC to Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR);
- All3Media on its acquisition of the award-winning television, film and theatre production company Neal Street Productions Limited;
- Electra Partners on the secondary buyout of Hotter Shoes from Gresham Private Equity;
- SafeCharge International Group Limited on its admission to AIM and a US$125 million international fundraising by way of an institutional placing; and
- The alternative investments arm of a major global bank on its establishment of an offshore fund and acquisition of a portfolio of student accommodation properties for approximately £200 million.
